Ground Floor:

Here is the reconstructed reception, where you may pay for admission, hand in your clothes at the cloakroom or keep your bags in a locker. A computer provides information about further sights and events and a small museum gift shop offers a substantial range of books on local history and culture, picture postcards and a lot more.

First Floor:

After climbing a newel stair, you reach the first floor. Here you pass by a figurehead that has got its own history.

The first floor offers a lot of information about the pre- and early history of the Ueckermünde region and about the history of the town itself. One showcase is dedicated to the town chronicler August Bartelt.

In the middle of the room, there is a replica of an old Slavonic boat that was constructed according to drafts from the Ukranenland Torgelow open-air museum.

In a second room you may then have a look at a lot of interesting items, paintings and photographs dating back to former times. Particularly impressive is a replica of the costume of Duke Philipp I, a knight's armour, plenty of cutting and stabbing weapons and firearms, implements of the craftsmen's guilds, articles of practical and everyday use, a shoemaker's corner and a lot more.

Garret Storey:

The garret storey houses a small lecture room that you cross in order to reach the main exhibition area. Then you enter the former loft of the palace. The bright and fashionably designed room presents a large number of showcases displaying exhibits related to the social, economic and cultural history of the region. Specimens include dioramas on railway history, iron-foundry products and products made in traditional industries like railways and ship's lantern production, a special exhibition area dedicated to the history of the school system and a replica of a ship's cabin.

A large part of this exhibition area is used to present special exhibitions on numerous subjects that attract visitors.

Tower:

The visit to the museum has not yet reached its end for you cannot call it a real visit without having climbed the tower. It is only a narrow wooden staircase that leads up and down.

The lower area provides comprehensive and vivid information about the century-long tradition of the brick and tile making industries in Ueckermünde.

When climbing further up the stairs, you come along a good number of exhibits from the field of fishing, see aged street-name signs and articles of practical and everyday use and upon reaching the top you will be rewarded with a panorama view over the town and lagoon. Apart from that, here are a large number of objects from shipping and shipbuilding, among them a model of the battle at the Repziner Haken hook.
